Biography

Fahadh Faasil, born as Abdul Hameed Mohammed Fahadh Fazil on August 8, 1982, is an acclaimed Indian actor and producer who predominantly works in Malayalam and Tamil films. With a career spanning over 50 films, Fahadh has garnered numerous accolades, including a National Film Award, four Kerala State Film Awards, and three Filmfare Awards South.

Fahadh’s journey began at the age of 20 when he starred in his father Fazil’s 2002 romantic film “Kaiyethum Doorath”, which unfortunately faced both critical and commercial setbacks. However, after a hiatus of seven years, Fahadh made a triumphant comeback with the anthology film “Kerala Cafe” (2009), where he featured in the short film “Mrityunjayam”.

His breakthrough came with the thriller “Chaappa Kurishu” (2011), where he portrayed the character Arjun. This role earned him his first Kerala State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Fahadh continued to impress audiences with memorable performances in films like “22 Female Kottayam” (2012) and “Diamond Necklace” (2012). His portrayal of Cyril in the former and Dr. Arun Kumar in the latter garnered critical acclaim.

In subsequent years, Fahadh’s career soared. He shone in movies such as “Annayum Rasoolum”, “Amen”, “North 24 Kaatham”, “Artist”, and “Oru Indian Pranayakadha”. His versatility and depth of character were recognized with awards, including the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for roles in “Artist” and “North 24 Kaatham”.

Fahadh’s success extended beyond Malayalam cinema. He starred in the coming-of-age drama “Bangalore Days” (2014), one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films. Additionally, he produced and acted in the period film “Iyobinte Pusthakam” under his production company, Fahadh Faasil and Friends Pvt Ltd.

His performances as Mahesh Bhavana in “Maheshinte Prathikaaram” (2016), Indian diplomat Manoj Abraham in “Take Off” (2017), and Prasad in “Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum” (2017) further solidified his reputation. Notably, both “Maheshinte Prathikaaram” and “Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum” received the Best Feature Film in Malayalam Award at the 64th and 65th National Film Awards.
