Bihar MLA and singer Maithili Thakur has become the subject of online discussion after a video showed her arriving in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan in Mumbai. The luxury car, reportedly valued at around ₹13 crore, quickly sparked questions on social media about its ownership and her financial disclosures.
However, one widely circulated claim about her election affidavit needs clarification. Posts suggesting that Maithili Thakur declared only a Honda Activa and ₹3 as her net worth are not supported by the publicly available 2025 election-affidavit data.
According to ADR/MyNeta’s record of her affidavit, Maithili Thakur declared total assets worth ₹3.82 crore, with no liabilities. Her movable assets were valued at approximately ₹2.32 crore, while her declared immovable assets were worth ₹1.5 crore.
What Did Maithili Thakur Declare?
The affidavit lists her profession as a singer, with her sources of income including singing, social media and brand endorsements. Her income-tax details show total income of ₹28.67 lakh for the financial year 2023–24.
Her declared immovable property includes a residential flat in Dwarka, Delhi, with the affidavit assigning a current market value of ₹1.5 crore. Her movable assets include investments, bank deposits and gold jewellery, among other holdings.
What About the ₹13 Crore Rolls-Royce?
A viral video showing Thakur arriving at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan triggered considerable attention online. Several reports have described the vehicle as being worth around ₹13 crore.
However, the ownership of the particular Rolls-Royce has not been publicly confirmed. Reports discussing the viral video also note that it has not been established that the luxury vehicle belongs to Thakur personally.
Therefore, the appearance of the MLA in the vehicle should not by itself be treated as evidence that she owns a ₹13 crore car.
The incident has nevertheless generated discussion about celebrity wealth, political figures and publicly declared assets. Thakur entered politics after establishing herself as a singer and won the Alinagar Assembly seat in the 2025 Bihar election. Public records identify her as a BJP MLA and show no liabilities in her election affidavit.
For now, the key distinction is between a viral claim about the car and verified affidavit information. Her election affidavit records assets of approximately ₹3.82 crore—not ₹3—and the ownership of the Rolls-Royce seen in the viral video remains unconfirmed.
