Yuva

“Yuva” (2024) marks the debut of Yuva Rajkumar, a scion of the illustrious Rajkumar family. Directed by Santhosh Ananddram and backed by Hombale Films, the film navigates the tumultuous world of college campuses, gang wars, and familial bonds.

The movie kicks off with pulsating energy on a college campus, where our hero, Yuva, rides bikes, puffs cigarettes, and engages in action-packed sequences. Amidst ego clashes and violence, Yuva finds himself ensnared in a web of conflict. His girlfriend, Siri (Sapthami Gowda), also faces threats.

The film’s first half focuses on action, leaving underlying reasons for the gang wars unexplored. However, glimpses of Yuva’s strained familial relations emerge. The second half gains momentum as Yuva returns home to face his father’s disappearance and mounting debts. Wrestling coach Veeranna Doddmane (Kishore) adds depth to the narrative.

Yuva Rajkumar conveys more through subtle gestures and expressions, relying less on words. While the film occasionally falters, its sincerity and earnestness shine through, making it a promising debut for the young actor.
