The film's story is inspired by a real-life incident set in a 1970s village in Karnataka, how farmers were exploited for their land from jamidara's. Kaatera is a 2023 Indian Kannada-language action drama film directed by Tharun Sudhir and produced by Rockline Venkatesh. Kaatera, a blacksmith in Bheemanahalli, has to tackle multiple challenges to help the farmers of his village implement Land Reforms Act in order for the farmers to escape from the feudal landlords Devaraya and Kaalegowda. The film stars Darshan and Aradhana Ram, in her debut, in the lead roles along with Jagapathi Babu, Kumar Govind, Vinod Kumar Alwa, Danish Akhtar Saifi and Shruti in supporting roles.
