The Buckingham Murders is a gripping Indian crime thriller directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta Kapoor. The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as Jasmeet Bhamra, a British-Indian detective grappling with the loss of her own child while investigating the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire. 

This role marks Kareena’s debut as a producer and showcases her in a career-defining performance. The narrative unfolds with Jasmeet arriving in a new town, where she must navigate her grief and the complexities of the case assigned to her. The film promises a suspenseful journey, with almost everyone in the small town becoming a suspect. 

The supporting cast includes Keith Allen, Ranveer Brar, and several British actors, adding authenticity to the setting. The Buckingham Murders premiered at the 67th BFI London Film Festival on October 14, 2023, and was screened at the 2023 Mumbai Film Festival. It is set for a theatrical release on September 13, 2024, and will also be available for streaming on Netflix. The film is expected to be the first part of a planned franchise.
