Biography

Shriya Pilgaonkar, born on April 25, 1989, in Mumbai, India, is an Indian actress, director, and producer. She hails from a family of renowned actors—her father, Sachin Pilgaonkar, and mother, Supriya Pilgaonkar. As a child, Shriya trained as a professional swimmer and won several medals during her school years. She also took Japanese language classes, initially considering a career as a translator or linguist. Later, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai and learned Kathak dance.

Shriya made her acting debut in the Marathi film “Ekulti Ek” (2013), where she portrayed the character Swara. Her father, Sachin Pilgaonkar, directed and produced the film, and her performance earned her the Best Debut Actress award at the Maharashtra State Film Awards. Following her success in Marathi cinema, she ventured into Bollywood with the film “Fan” (2016). Shriya also made a mark in the digital space, starring in popular web series like “Mirzapur” (2018), “Guilty Minds,” “The Broken News” (both in 2022), and “Taaza Khabar” (2023). Her talent extends beyond acting; she has also directed several plays.
