Biography

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, born on July 18, 1982, in Jamshedpur, Bihar, India, is an Indian actress and producer. She gained international recognition after winning the Miss World 2000 pageant. Chopra is one of India’s highest-paid actresses and has received numerous accolades, including two National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards. Her acting journey began with the Tamil film Thamizhan (2002), followed by her Bollywood debut in The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003). She played leading roles in box-office hits like Andaaz (2003) and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), and had a breakout role in the 2004 romantic thriller Aitraaz. 

Chopra’s versatility shone through as she portrayed diverse characters in films like Fashion (2008), for which she won a National Film Award, and Kaminey (2009), Barfi! (2012), Mary Kom (2014), and Bajirao Mastani (2015). From 2015 to 2018, she headlined the ABC thriller series Quantico, becoming the first South Asian to lead an American network drama. Chopra also ventured into music, released three singles, and authored her memoir, Unfinished (2021), which became a New York Times Best Seller. 

She has made her mark in Hollywood with films like Baywatch (2017), Isn’t It Romantic (2019), The White Tiger (2021), and The Matrix Resurrections (2021). Her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, produced notable films, including the Marathi film Ventilator (2016) and the Hindi biopic The Sky Is Pink (2019)1.
