Biography

Piyush Mishra is an Indian actor, singer, lyricist, playwright, musician, and screenwriter. He was born on January 13, 1963 and grew up in Gwalior. He graduated from the National School of Drama in Delhi in 1986 and started his career in Hindi theater in Delhi. 

Mishra has been nominated for several awards, including the Zee Cine Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Gangs of Wasseypur in 2013 and the Zee Cine Award for Best Dialogue for The Legend of Bhagat Singh in 2003. He is well known for his work in films like Maqbool and Gangs of Wasseypur. Some of his other recent movies include JNU: Jahangir National University, Main Atal Hoon, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, Journey Bombay to Goa: Laughter Unlimited, and Dil Se. 

Mishra has also written and directed several plays as a part of Act-1 Group (1990-1995). In 1996 he joined Asmita Theatre Group, and performed his popular one man shows An Evening with Piyush Mishra. He also wrote the lyrics for Asmita's popular plays. 

Mishra has been married to Priya Narayanan since 1995 and they have two children, Jai Mishra and Josh Mishra.
