Nimisha Sajayan, also known as Nimisha Sanjayan Nair, is an acclaimed Indian actress predominantly working in Malayalam cinema. Born on January 4, 1997, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she is the daughter of Sajayan Nair, an engineer, and Bindhu Sajayan, with familial roots in Kerala's Kollam district. Nimisha completed her schooling at Carmel Convent High School and graduated from KJ Somaiya College in Mumbai. During her school years, she was an active sportsperson, captaining both football and volleyball teams, and earning a black belt in taekwondo by eighth grade.
She made a remarkable acting debut in 2017 with the film "Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum," directed by Dileesh Pothan. Her performance garnered critical acclaim and set the stage for a successful career. In 2019, Nimisha won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her roles in "Oru Kuprasidha Payyan" and "Chola."
She continued to impress audiences with notable performances in films like "The Great Indian Kitchen" (2021) and "Chithha" (2023), the latter marking her Tamil cinema debut. Her portrayal in "Chithha" earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Tamil.
