Biography
Komal Kumar, born on July 4, 1973, in Mayasandra, Tumkur, Karnataka, India, is a renowned actor and film producer known for his significant contributions to Kannada cinema
Komal was born into a well-to-do family of industrialists. He completed his education in Ooty and initially aspired to take the civil service examinations. However, he eventually shifted his focus to acting.
Komal made his acting debut in 1992 with the film “Super Nan Maga”, produced by his brother-in-law. Initially, he played supporting roles, often in comedic parts, before transitioning to lead roles. Some of his notable films include:
“Thavarige Baa Thangi” (2002), which earned him the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.
“Neenello Naanalle” (2006), for which he won the South Filmfare Award1.
“Govindaya Namaha” (2012), a blockbuster that catapulted him to stardom.
Personal Life
Komal is married to Anasooya, who has produced films under their home banner, Soundarya Lahari Combines1. He is the younger brother of actor Jaggesh, with whom he has frequently collaborated1. His nephews, Gururaj and Yethiraj, are also actors.
