1. Kapil hails from a Punjabi family in Amritsar, Punjab, India.

2. His father, Jeetendra Kumar Punj, served as a head constable in the Punjab Police, while his mother, Janak Rani, is a homemaker.

3. Unfortunately, Kapil’s father passed away in 2004 after battling cancer.

4. He attended Shri Ram Ashram Senior Secondary School and later studied at Hindu College, Amritsar, and Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar.

5. Kapil rose to fame by winning the third season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007, earning a cash prize of ?10 lakh.

6. He hosted and produced popular television comedy shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil and Family Time with Kapil.
