George Maryan, born on March 23, 1963, in Vilathikulam, Tamil Nadu, is a celebrated Indian actor and comedian known for his contributions to Tamil cinema. His acting journey began in the theatre, where he joined the esteemed Koothu-P-Pattarai group under the direction of N. Muthuswamy in 1989. George transitioned to the silver screen in 2002, making his debut in the film "Azhagi" as a math teacher.

He gained significant recognition for his role as a bumbling police officer in Priyadarshan's "Kanchivaram" (2008). This role led to further collaborations with director A. L. Vijay in films like "Poi Solla Porom" (2008), "Madrasapattinam" (2010), and "Deiva Thirumagal" (2011). His impeccable comic timing in "Saivam" (2014) as a house servant earned him critical acclaim.

In 2019, George received widespread praise for his portrayal of a constable in the film "Kaithi," earning several awards, including the MVT Film Excellence Award, Zee Cine Awards (Tamil), and the South Indian International Movie Awards for Best Supporting Actor. He has also appeared in popular films like "Mandela" (2021) and "Run Baby Run" (2023).
