Biography

Chandrika Gera Dixit, popularly known as the "Vada Pav Girl," hails from Indore but later moved to Delhi. After working at Haldiram's for several years, she faced a turning point when her son fell ill with dengue.

Determined to create a better life, Chandrika quit her job and, alongside her husband, set up a food cart selling Mumbai's famous vada pav. Her cart, aptly named "Mumbai Ka Famous Vada Pav" (also known as "The Authentic Vada Pav"), gained immense popularity. Customers flocked to her stall outside Keshav Maha Vidhyala in Pitampura, Delhi, waiting for hours to savor her delicious vada pav.

Chandrika's journey wasn't without challenges. She faced disputes with the Delhi Police and Municipal Corporation over her stall's location. Despite these hurdles, her business thrived, and she became a social media sensation. Bloggers even compared her looks to Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit. Chandrika's passion for Lord Shiva, love for dancing, and fondness for riding bikes add to her vibrant personality.

At her food cart, she limits sales to four vada pav per person after 8 pm. Chandrika's story exemplifies determination, hard work, and the power of street food to capture hearts and taste buds alike.
