Biography

Bala Rajwadi, born R Lingaraju on October 27, 1973, is an accomplished Indian film and stage actor, as well as a director, renowned for his work in Kannada cinema. His repertoire predominantly features negative-shaded characters, and he has graced the screen in over 90 films. Before venturing into cinema, Bala Rajwadi honed his craft as a stage actor with the theater group Janamana since 1993. His journey in the film industry began with the 1997 Kannada movie “Nodu Baa Nammoora”. Since 2016, he has been actively contributing to the South Indian film industry.

Notably, Bala Rajwadi gained prominence by portraying an antagonist in Ram Gopal Varma’s production “Bhairava Geetha” (2018). His impactful performances extend to films like “Mufti” (2017), “Bharate”, “Panchatantra”, and “Damayanthi”. Beyond acting, he directs documentaries and stage plays. Additionally, Bala Rajwadi founded the Niranthara Foundation in 1999, a theater group dedicated to addressing social issues through the medium of theater.

His filmography includes a diverse range of titles, such as “Samhaara” (2018), “My Story” (2018), “Fortuner” (2019), “Geetha” (2019), and “Siri Lambodara Vivaha” (2022).
