Anu Malik
Biography
Anu Malik, whose full name is Anwar Sardar Malik, is an Indian music composer, singer, and arranger for Hindi films. He was born on November 2, 1960, to music director Sardar Malik and Kausar Jahan. He has won an Indian National Award and a Filmfare Award, and has composed music for films such as Refugee, Main Hoon Na, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Ayee, Sir, and Akele Hum Akele Tum. He has also sung singles like "Dekho Barish Ho Rahi Hai", "Tera Chehra", and "Dhua Dhua".
Malik has two daughters, Anmol and Ada, with his wife Anju Malik. Anmol is a singer, and Ada studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York.
Malik has won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Music Director for Refugee in 2001, and the Filmfare Award for Main Hoon Na in 2004. His song "Chamma Chamma" from China Gate was also used in the movie Moulin Rouge.
