The much-awaited National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) IPO is making its stock-market debut today, September 24, 2026. Shares of the country’s largest stock exchange are scheduled to list on the BSE, with trading also permitted on the Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India (MSEI). Investors are closely watching the opening price, live NSE share price and grey market premium (GMP) as trading begins.

NSE IPO Listing Date and Issue Price

The NSE IPO opened for subscription on September 17 and closed on September 21, 2026. The price band was fixed at ₹1,700 to ₹1,785 per share, with the final issue price set at ₹1,785. The IPO raised around ₹22,562 crore and was entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS), meaning the proceeds will go to existing shareholders rather than the company.

The issue received strong overall demand and was subscribed 5.71 times, with bids coming from qualified institutional buyers, non-institutional investors and retail participants. Allotment was finalised on September 22 ahead of today’s listing.

    NSE IPO GMP Today

The grey market premium has moderated considerably ahead of the listing. Reports on September 24 put the GMP at around ₹40 per share, or approximately 2.24% above the upper IPO price of ₹1,785. Based on that GMP, the implied price is around ₹1,825 per share.

However, GMP is an unofficial indicator from the grey market and does not guarantee the actual listing price. The NSE share price can move sharply once trading starts based on demand, market sentiment and broader market conditions.

    Where Will NSE Shares List?

NSE shares are scheduled to debut on the BSE on September 24, 2026. The shares are also permitted to trade on the Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India (MSEI). NSE itself will not list its shares on its own exchange because existing regulations do not permit a recognised stock exchange to list its own securities on its trading platform.

    What Investors Should Watch

The listing marks an important milestone for NSE after years of preparations to become a publicly traded company. Investors will be watching the opening price, trading volumes, market capitalisation and price movement during the first session.

The IPO’s entire structure was an OFS, so NSE does not receive fresh capital from the offering. The company’s future performance will therefore continue to depend on its operating business, trading activity, market share, regulatory environment and growth in its various market and data-related businesses.

As trading begins, investors should distinguish between the IPO issue price, unofficial GMP and the actual BSE market price. The final listing price will be determined by market trading and can differ significantly from grey-market indications.
