Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 25 years of continuous service as the head of a government, marking a political journey that began when he became Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001. He subsequently became Prime Minister in 2014 and is currently serving his third consecutive term. The Union Cabinet noted in June 2026 that Modi had completed 4,399 days as an elected Prime Minister, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru’s previous record for consecutive service.

1. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana

2. Swachh Bharat Mission
Launched in 2014, the cleanliness campaign focused on sanitation, toilet construction and reducing open defecation. The government reports that more than 70 lakh household, community and public toilets were built under the urban component alone.
3. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
Ujjwala was introduced to expand access to LPG connections among eligible households, with a focus on reducing dependence on traditional cooking fuels. Government figures have put LPG connections under the scheme at more than 10 crore.
4. Ayushman Bharat
The health insurance component of Ayushman Bharat, PM-JAY, was designed to provide financial protection for eligible families requiring hospitalisation. The government has highlighted coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year.
5. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
PMAY has focused on providing affordable housing to eligible households in rural and urban areas. The government has said that four crore permanent houses had been built under the programme.
6. PM-KISAN
Introduced in 2019, PM-KISAN provides eligible farmer families with ₹6,000 annually through direct benefit transfers. In 2026, the Union Cabinet approved continuation of the scheme through 2030-31, with a financial outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore.
7. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
The Mudra scheme provides loans to micro and small entrepreneurs. The government says loans exceeding ₹30 lakh crore have been disbursed under the programme.
8. Digital India
Digital India has promoted digital infrastructure, online government services and technology-led delivery. Initiatives involving Aadhaar, mobile connectivity and direct benefit transfers have become important components of digital governance.
9. Make in India
Launched in 2014, Make in India was designed to encourage manufacturing, investment and domestic production. More recently, the government’s Production Linked Incentive programme has been used to support manufacturing across several sectors.
10. Jal Jeevan Mission
The Jal Jeevan Mission focuses on providing functional tap-water connections to rural households, making drinking-water access a major component of rural infrastructure development.
