Bengaluru residents checking the weather for Friday, October 16, 2026, should consult an up-to-date hourly forecast before leaving home. October is part of the city’s post-monsoon period, when cloud cover and showers can vary across neighbourhoods and during the day.
Will it rain in Bengaluru today?
A dependable, location-specific hourly forecast for every part of Bengaluru was not available for independent confirmation while this article was prepared. It would therefore be misleading to promise either rain or dry weather for the full day. Conditions can differ between areas such as Whitefield, central Bengaluru, Electronic City and the airport corridor.
How to check the latest rain forecast
Check the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast and local weather radar for Bengaluru before travel. Look at the hourly probability of precipitation and any official alert rather than relying on a citywide headline alone.
Commuting tips if showers return
- Allow extra travel time during peak hours if showers or waterlogging are reported.
- Carry a compact umbrella or rain jacket if the hourly forecast indicates a chance of rain.
- Use caution on slippery roads and avoid driving through flooded underpasses.
- Follow traffic police and civic advisories if heavy rain affects local routes.
Where to check official updates
Use the India Meteorological Department website for official forecasts and warnings, and check local authorities for road or flood advisories.
