Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups appears to be facing another delay in its digital release, leaving fans waiting for an official update. The Geetu Mohandas-directed Kannada gangster drama was widely expected to premiere on ZEE5 in the last week of September, with September 25 being reported as the possible streaming date.
However, the film did not arrive as expected and is also reportedly missing from ZEE5’s October 2026 release slate. As a result, the wait for Toxic’s digital premiere continues. Neither the makers nor ZEE5 has officially announced a revised OTT release date so far.
Toxic OTT Release Date Still Unclear
Before its theatrical release, reports suggested that Toxic had a digital deal lined up with ZEE5. Following its theatrical run, several reports indicated that the film could make its streaming debut on September 25.
Those reports, however, were not officially confirmed by the production team or the streaming platform. With the expected September premiere having passed and the movie absent from the latest October OTT listings, viewers now have no confirmed date to mark on their calendars.
Why Has Toxic’s OTT Release Been Delayed?
The reason behind the latest delay has not been officially disclosed. Online discussions have linked the uncertainty to the film’s reported digital business and its theatrical performance, but these claims should be treated as industry speculation unless confirmed by the producers or ZEE5.
Earlier reports had also suggested that Toxic did not have a finalized streaming agreement before its theatrical release. Some reports claimed that the value of potential OTT deals changed following the film’s box-office performance, although the reported figures have not been officially confirmed by the makers.
Yash’s Toxic Cast and Story
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups marks Yash’s return to the big screen after KGF: Chapter 2. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
The film combines gangster drama, action and crime elements, with Yash playing a central character in its underworld setting. KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations are associated with the project, while Ravi Basrur has composed the music.
For now, fans will have to wait for an official announcement regarding the film’s streaming platform and release date. Until then, reports about a specific ZEE5 premiere date remain unconfirmed.
