Vivo has officially launched the Vivo V80 in India, bringing a combination of camera-focused features, a high-capacity battery and a fast OLED display to the company’s V-Series lineup. The smartphone is positioned as a premium option for users who prioritise photography, video recording, long battery life and an immersive display.

The Vivo V80 arrives with a 7,200mAh battery, making it the largest battery used in Vivo’s V-Series smartphones launched in India as of October 2026. It also supports 90W FlashCharge, giving users a faster way to replenish the large battery. Vivo claims the battery can provide up to 39.5 hours of local video playback under its stated test conditions.

    ZEISS Camera System

Photography is one of the major highlights of the Vivo V80. The phone features a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera based on the Sony LYTIA 700V sensor, along with a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera using a Sony IMX882 sensor. The telephoto camera supports optical image stabilisation and 3x optical zoom, while the phone also includes an 8MP ZEISS ultra-wide-angle camera.

For selfies and video calls, the smartphone gets a 50MP ZEISS front camera with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view. Vivo is also promoting features such as ZEISS portrait modes, 100mm Center-Stage Portrait and AI-powered creative camera tools.

Video enthusiasts get 4K recording at 60fps, along with cinematic video styles designed to give footage a more film-like appearance. These features make the V80 particularly interesting for social-media creators and users who regularly record travel, lifestyle and portrait videos.

    144Hz OLED Display

The Vivo V80 sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel supports up to 1.07 billion colours and has a claimed local peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The high refresh rate should provide smoother scrolling, animations and gaming compared with conventional 60Hz displays.

    OriginOS 7 and AI Features

The smartphone runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 and introduces AI-oriented features aimed at photography, productivity and everyday use. Vivo has highlighted tools including Pet Pals, Snap Note and Security Shield alongside its AI Creative Camera features.

The Vivo V80 is available in Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black colour options. With its combination of a large 7,200mAh battery, 90W charging, ZEISS cameras and 144Hz OLED display, the V80 is aimed at users looking for a feature-rich premium smartphone with particular emphasis on photography and endurance.
