Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has joined the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, pledging to support the education of 1,000 girls. The actor made the announcement during his recent visit to Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal amid Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Ranveer, who visited the pandal to seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings, spoke about the past year and his gratitude for the happiness experienced by his family. During his interaction with the media, he also announced his decision to contribute to girls’ education through the initiative.
“I pledge to join the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and help 1,000 girls with their education,” Ranveer said, according to reports.
What Is Seva Sankalp Abhiyan?
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan began on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, and is scheduled to continue until October 17. The wider campaign includes various public-service, welfare and outreach activities.
Ranveer’s pledge places education support at the centre of his participation. His announcement comes alongside contributions from other Bollywood personalities. Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have reportedly committed to supporting the refurbishment of 20 schools.
