Visuals Of Surya Tilak From Ayodhya On The auspicious Occasion Of Ram Navami 2024
On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami 2024, Ayodhya’s newly constructed Ram Mandir witnessed a historic event. At precisely noon on April 17, the Sun’s radiant beams fell upon Ram Lalla’s divine forehead, creating the revered Surya Tilak. This unique ritual holds profound symbolism, aligning with the belief that Lord Ram belongs to the Ishvaku clan, descendants of the Sun or Suryavanshis.
The engineering behind this celestial moment is fascinating. Experts from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-R) meticulously designed an apparatus using a blend of optics and mechanics. The tilak apparatus, crafted from brass and bronze for durability and corrosion resistance, features high-quality mirrors and lenses. Two trial runs were conducted to ensure precision, directing a single ray of sunlight onto Ram Lalla’s forehead at the appointed time.
Surya Abhishek, as it is known, combines science, spirituality, and devotion. Ancient Indian temples have employed similar mechanisms, but the Ram Temple’s engineering showcases a unique approach. As the Sun kissed the deity’s forehead, Ayodhya witnessed a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation—a radiant tribute to Lord Ram’s legacy.
