A 22-year-old woman was brutally murdered in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, the victim, who had gone to attend a religious event, was raped and killed in a horrific manner—her eyes were gouged out, and her clothes were torn.
When the woman did not return home on Thursday night, her worried parents approached the police to file a complaint. However, the family has alleged that instead of helping them, the police told them to search for their daughter on their own.
The victim’s body was later found in a canal in Ayodhya in a severely mutilated state. She was found naked, with her eyes gouged out, and had multiple severe injuries all over her body. Her hands and legs were tied with ropes. The family suspects that she was raped before being brutally murdered.
The police have stated that an investigation is underway. Officer Ashutosh Tiwari confirmed that after the family filed a complaint on Friday, the case was initially registered as a missing person report.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken based on the results, a police official stated.
According to the victim's family, the young woman had gone to attend a Bhagavad Katha event. When she did not return home even late at night, they became anxious and approached the police to file a complaint. However, the family alleges that the police initially refused to register the complaint and instead told them, "Find your daughter yourself."
Later, the victim’s body was discovered in a canal. She was found without any clothes, her body tied with ropes, and her bones were broken. The grieving family broke down in tears, claiming that she was brutally murdered.
