Former Karnataka CM S.M. Krishna Passes Away at 92

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna, widely known as S.M. Krishna, passed away at the age of 92 in Bengaluru. Born on May 1, 1932, in Somanahalli, Karnataka, Krishna had an illustrious political career, serving as the Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1999 to 2004. He played a crucial role in transforming Bengaluru into India's Silicon Valley, significantly boosting the state's IT sector. In addition to his tenure as Chief Minister, Krishna also served as the Union External Affairs Minister and the Governor of Maharashtra.

Krishna's political journey was marked by significant contributions to Karnataka's development. Under his leadership, the state saw substantial progress in various sectors, especially in information technology and infrastructure. His efforts to promote Bengaluru as a global IT hub earned him widespread recognition and respect.
