Sriram Krishnan: Chennai-Born Tech Expert Appointed as Trump's AI Advisor

Sriram Krishnan, a tech expert hailing from Chennai, India, has been appointed as the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. This significant role places Krishnan at the forefront of shaping AI policy in the United States, ensuring the country's continued leadership in this critical field.

Krishnan's journey in the tech world began in Chennai, where he was born and raised. He pursued a degree in Information Technology from SRM Engineering College in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. His career took off when he joined Microsoft, contributing to the development of Windows Azure. Over the years, Krishnan held influential roles at major tech companies, including Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo!, and Snap, where he played pivotal roles in product development and user engagement.

In 2021, Krishnan joined Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), one of Silicon Valley's most prominent venture capital firms, as a General Partner. He focused on emerging technologies, particularly AI and cryptocurrency, and spearheaded the firm's international expansion efforts. His expertise in AI and his strategic vision have made him a key figure in the tech landscape.
