Kriti Sanon

Kriti Sanon is a prominent Indian actress, model and entrepreneur who primarily works in Hindi cinema. Born and raised in New Delhi, she pursued engineering before entering the entertainment industry. Her journey from an engineering graduate to a National Award-winning actress has made her one of the recognised names in contemporary Bollywood.

Kriti Sanon was born on 1990-07-27 in New Delhi, India. She comes from an academically oriented family. Her father, Rahul Sanon, is a chartered accountant, while her mother, Geeta Sanon, is a professor. Her younger sister, Nupur Sanon, is an actress and singer. Unlike many Bollywood performers, Kriti did not come from a film family and entered the industry after completing her education.

Kriti studied at Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, and later completed a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in Noida. During her college years, she developed an interest in modelling and began participating in fashion assignments. After graduation, she received job offers through campus placements but chose to pursue modelling and acting instead.

Her acting career began in Telugu cinema with 1: Nenokkadine in 2014, opposite Mahesh Babu. The same year, she made her Hindi film debut with Heropanti, opposite Tiger Shroff. Her performance earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and established her as a promising newcomer.

Kriti subsequently appeared in films including Dilwale, Raabta, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Luka Chuppi, Housefull 4, Mimi, Bhediya, Adipurush, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Crew and Do Patti. Her performance as a surrogate mother in Mimi became one of the biggest milestones of her career. She won the National Film Award for Best Actress for the role, sharing the honour with Alia Bhatt.

Beyond acting, Kriti has expanded into entrepreneurship and production. She has been associated with businesses including Hyphen, The Tribe and her production company Blue Butterfly Films. Her career therefore extends beyond conventional film acting into fashion, beauty, wellness and film production.

As of 2026, Kriti remains unmarried and has not publicly confirmed a spouse. She continues to work in Indian cinema while developing her entrepreneurial interests and public profile.
