“Kalki 2898 AD” is a pan-Indian epic dystopian science fiction action film directed by Nag Ashwin. The movie features an ensemble cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and others. 

Story: Set in the year 2898 AD, the desertified city of Kasi stands as the last known city on Earth. Ruled by a totalitarian elite led by the god-king Supreme Yaskin, the city exists beneath a hovering inverted pyramidal megastructure called the “Complex.” The narrative weaves ancient Indian Hindu mythology with a dystopian society, spanning millennia from the events of the Mahabharata in 3102 BC to the arrival of Kalki, the enigmatic tenth avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu.

Describes it as a larger-than-life sci-fi action experience with impressive visuals and world-building. Nag Ashwin’s direction showcases brilliance and some inexperience in drama and emotional connection. Overall, a movie worth experiencing on the big screen. 

The film was released worldwide on June 27, 2024. While the first half demands patience, the second half compensates with stunning visual effects and well-executed action sequences, leaving viewers elevated as they exit the theater. Enjoy the cinematic masterpiece!
