His first wife, Ranjana Jha, has filed a maintenance case against him, alleging that he violated her rights and usurped her property. Hearing at Supaul Family Court
On February 21, 2025, Udit Narayan attended a hearing at the Supaul Family Court regarding the maintenance case filed by Ranjana Jha. Despite attempts at mediation, Narayan remained firm in his stance, declining any settlement. He accused Ranjana Jha of attempting to extort money from him, a claim he has made in the past.
Previous Legal Disputes
This case is not the first time Udit Narayan and Ranjana Jha have faced legal disputes. Previously, a case was filed against Narayan with the Bihar Women’s Commission, which was resolved through a settlement. Reports indicate that Narayan had been providing financial support to Jha, including increasing her monthly maintenance amount from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 in 2021. He also provided her with farmland and a house worth ₹1 crore.
Ranjana Jha's Allegations
Ranjana Jha, through her lawyer, accused Udit Narayan of neglecting her and withholding ₹18 lakh from the sale of their land. She also claimed that she faced threats and intimidation whenever she visited Mumbai. Jha expressed her desire to live with Narayan due to her declining health and advancing age, stating that she wishes to spend the remainder of her life with her husband.

The legal troubles come amid another controversy involving Udit Narayan. A video of him kissing a female fan on the lips during a live performance went viral, drawing widespread criticism.
