WPL 2027 Schedule Announced
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the key dates for the 2027 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), confirming the start and end dates of the fifth edition as well as the venue and date for the player auction. The tournament will be played from January 14 to February 7, 2027.
The announcement sets the stage for another season of the TATA WPL, with the five participating franchises now moving into the squad-building phase ahead of the tournament.
WPL 2027 Start Date and Final
According to the BCCI’s official announcement, the fifth edition of the Women’s Premier League will begin on January 14, 2027, with the tournament scheduled to conclude on February 7.
The BCCI has not yet officially announced the complete list of host cities for the league. Reports have indicated that venues in Mumbai and Vadodara are among the locations being considered, while the possibility of using a new venue in Varanasi has also been discussed. However, those venue details remain subject to official confirmation.
WPL 2027 Auction Date and Venue
The WPL 2027 player auction will take place on October 28, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Kochi in Kochi, Kerala. The auction will give all five franchises an opportunity to complete their squads for the upcoming season.
Before the auction, teams must finalise their player retention decisions. The deadline for player retentions is September 28, 2026, making the coming weeks particularly important for the franchises as they assess their existing squads and identify areas that require strengthening.
