The State Bank of India (SBI) has invited applications for the post of Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on a contractual basis, offering annual compensation of up to ₹2.50 crore. SBI Group CISO Recruitment 2026: Important Dates

The position is based in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai, according to the recruitment details. The initial contractual engagement is for three years and may be extended by another two years, subject to the terms of the appointment.
SBI Group CISO Eligibility
The role is intended for senior cybersecurity and technology professionals. Applicants must be Indian citizens and should not be more than 57 years old as of August 31, 2026. Candidates are required to have 15 to 20 years of post-qualification experience in IT or information security-related fields.
For educational qualifications, candidates can have a B.E. or B.Tech degree in areas including Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Cyber Security or related disciplines, with the prescribed minimum marks. MCA, M.Tech or M.Sc qualifications in relevant technology disciplines are also accepted.
The notification also specifies substantial experience in information security, cybersecurity or cyber defence, including senior-management-level experience in banks or financial institutions.
SBI Group CISO Salary
The selected candidate can receive annual CTC of up to ₹2.50 crore. The compensation is negotiable and will depend on the candidate’s experience and suitability for the role. Reports based on the recruitment notification indicate that the CTC comprises fixed and variable components.
