For households that need an LPG cylinder refill but are temporarily short of cash, Bharatgas has introduced a micro-loan facility that allows eligible customers to access up to ₹600 for an LPG refill and repay the amount in small instalments. The facility follows a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) model and, according to reports, does not charge interest on the ₹600 credit.

How the LPG Refill Loan Works

Under the reported facility, Bharatgas customers can receive up to ₹600 in credit when they need to purchase an LPG refill but cannot make the entire payment immediately. The amount is then repaid through six weekly instalments of ₹100 each, meaning the repayment period works out to six weeks.

Importantly, this should not be confused with a ₹100 monthly EMI. Current reports specifically state that the ₹100 payment is due every week, not every month.

The facility is designed to reduce the immediate financial burden of purchasing a refill and can be useful when a household unexpectedly runs out of cooking gas.

Who Can Get the ₹600 LPG Loan?

The facility is associated with Bharatgas customers, but availability and eligibility can depend on the distributor and the applicable lending process. Customers should therefore confirm the facility with their local Bharatgas distributor before relying on it.

According to reports, customers interested in the facility need to contact their nearest Bharatgas distributor and complete the required process. The distributor can provide information about eligibility, availability, repayment terms and documentation.

Reports also indicate that the BNPL facility has been introduced through a partnership involving OneAgro Fintech Private Limited.

    What About LPG Subsidies?

The micro-loan facility is separate from government LPG subsidy schemes. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), eligible beneficiaries have received targeted LPG subsidies, with the government approving a ₹300 subsidy per 14.2kg cylinder for eligible consumers for the relevant financial year.

Consumers should check their individual eligibility and current subsidy status rather than assuming that the micro-loan automatically provides a subsidy.

How to Book an LPG Refill

Regular LPG refills can be booked through the official channels of the respective oil marketing company, including customer portals, mobile apps and other approved booking methods. The official PMUY website lists refill-booking options for IndianOil, Bharatgas and HP Gas.

Consumers considering the ₹600 micro-loan should first confirm its availability with their Bharatgas distributor and carefully check the repayment schedule before accepting the credit
