How To Prepare Original Andhra Style Chilly Chicken, Step By Step Recipe

Here are the step-by-step Andhra Style Chilly Chicken Recipe; 

Marinate the Chicken:
Soak 300 grams of chicken in buttermilk overnight or at least 2 hours to tenderize it.
Drain off the buttermilk fully the next morning.

Marinate the chicken with the following ingredients:

  • 1 tsp solid ghee
  • 2 medium-sized onions (coarsely crushed or pulsed)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • ¼ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • A little turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

Blend the Seasoning Paste:

  • Blend ½ cup of fresh coriander leaves and 2 green chilies in a jar.
  • Cook the Chicken:
  • Cook the marinated chicken until it’s fully done.

Prepare the Seasoning:

  • Heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil.
  • Add 1 sprig of curry leaves, ¼ tsp cumin (jeera), and 2 to 3 slit green chilies.
  • Add the cooked chicken and the blended paste.
  • Fry for 3 to 5 minutes.
